"Mochtest du ein bissen Aussie?"
I think it is officially my favourite city, at least since I've left Sydney. I find it hard explaining it to people I meet on the road though. There's nothing particularly huge or bizarrely unique that jumps out and hits you in Berlin. It's more of a quite vibe that slowly grows on you and looks out for you when you’re wandering the streets on a warm summer afternoon.
I guess part of the reason I love Berlin so much is the friends I have here. Also being able to speak a bit of the language helps you to not feel like such a dopey tourist. Something that might surprise you is how great the food is here. You can easily get any of your favourite foreign dishes but I could live forever on Sauerkraut, Knoedel and Bratwurst. Of course thanks to the German Purity Law (no, its wasn't something Hitler introduced) you're going to have to hunt hard for a beer that doesn't suck.
This time next week I'll be in merry old England looking for work. But before I go I'm going to make the most of my last 'Dante' weekend in Berlin then go see a few cities out in the west.
