A quick note from the late night beijing office vodka crew.

After a week's R+R in Yangshou in southern China I've returned to the big smoke to prepare for my next 2 Russia trips.

Living in China and watching a lot of the government controlled English language TV channel you can't think anything but China is THE place to be right now. Business seems to be going gangbusters and the large cities seems to be morphing almost overnight into Singapore clones. Which in itself has good and bad sides to it.

Having talked to a few of you guys in the 'outside' world it seems all the state sponsored hype isn't just hype. One thing that surprised me was how big and cutting edge the arts scene was. The arts community at Dashanzi halfway out to the airport recently had its annual arts festival. There were exhibits that would easy match any I've seen in Europe or the states in the past years.

Typing off a few emails I'm sitting here in the office with some of the best people I've ever met sharing each others favorite vodka. Almost every day I have trouble coming to terms with how lucky I am to be able to do this job. All the bothers and living out of a backpack that gets hauled to a different city each 2 days doesn?t really get to you when you weigh it all up. The hardest thing is not being able to see all the people I love as much as I'd like. Then again that is getting harder as you are all spread so far around the world.

It's a very different thing to growing up in Regents Park and being able to ride your BMX to everyone's house.

So the most current plan is to come home for Christmas then head over to Canada in January.
