It's good to be back.

It's great to be home after almost a year travelling the globe. I've really missed my family, friends and funnily enough the Australian accent. Since I arrived back at Kingsford Smith I have been more aware of our particular way of speaking. On my first night out it was almost a novelty to hear it. The bombardment of this formerly familiar accent was tempered slightly by the presence of my friend’s flatmate and his American accent.

I'd like to say thank you to all the people I met and/or travelled with over the last year. Thanks for making my journey easier, happier and much more interesting. More than anything else its been wonderful, generous and interesting people that makes travelling fun and life worth living. The friendships I've made over the past 12 months I hope will endure. Please everyone keep in touch. Even if it's a few lines in an email.

A special thanks to all those who welcomed me into their homes while I was travelling. I doubt I would have survived a full year in just hostels. Thank you to Sylvia, Nick & Natalie, the Lorenz family, Alex's uncle in Greece, Aris, Silvia, Shan, Daniel, Julia, the Koerners, Angela, Simon, Stephanie & Darren, Ann-Marie and the Patersons.

Finally I would like to dedicate my journey to my late grandparents Tomasz and Anastazia Zakrzewski who left their home for a new life a world away and without who I wouldn't have been able to travel so far and to so many different lands.
